Hawthorne resident Syreeta Scott stumbled on Strut Bridal earlier this month while scouting out plus-size wedding dresses online. ![]() She selected the name Strut Bridal Salon because she wanted brides-to-be to feel like they could “strut their stuff.” ![]() ![]() She relied on financial backing from her brother, Bob Campeau, a corporate turnaround specialist in San Francisco’s East Bay area, to help set up the first store. In 2009, she found a boutique store in the tony Scottsdale area outside of Phoenix, and the idea took off. She dropped $700 for the dress and $200 more for the corset.
